Mixing live action and puppetry, the series covers 30 of the most common ailments that young kids visit the doctor to discuss…
Being ill is never pleasant. Young children and the adults caring for them, can often struggle to find a way to express their feelings about potentially uncomfortable situations and topics. Get Well Soon eases children’s fears about illness and going to see the doctor in a fun and genuinely informative way, whilst also answering all those child-centred questions about bodies and feeling poorly with candor and humour.
Paediatrician Dr. Ranj Singh helps to empower young viewers to understand their bodies and to see the medical world as a child-friendly, non-threatening, and very exciting environment. Get Well Soon does this by using music, laughter, games and five kid-relatable, puppet characters – Deep, Jobi, Petal, Kiwa, and Riz. Going to visit the doctor can be a very positive and even fun experience and understanding why you are unwell is the first step to getting better.
The conditions and ailments covered in the series are: asthma, verrucas, constipation, colds, cuts, broken arm, conjunctivitis, immunisation, sleeping problems, eczema, croup, head lice, cold sores, ear infection, knocked-out tooth, foreign body ingestion, diabetes, hand, foot and mouth disease, hiccups, scalds, bump to the head, urine infection, food allergies, chicken pox, tiredness, nose bleeds, upset stomach, ringworm, sunburn, and blurred vision.
What the Parents Say:
Alison: "My kids love this show and it's very useful too!"
Leanne: "Recently my 4 year old was very unwell and had to be admitted to hospital. I was scared the hospital was really going to upset her, but thanks to shows like Get Well Soon I could explain why she needed the doctor and she was quite at ease letting the doctors examine her and take necessary tests. So thank you for doing your job so well not only educating our children but also allowing us to learn how to explain scary things."
Caroline: "Loving your show on Cbeebies, my mother has been recently diagnosed with kidney failure and your show highlighting kidney failure explained her condition in easy to use language for my 8 year old twins, big thumbs up"
Kam: "Absolutely brilliant! Why didn't someone think of this before - My son loves it!"
