Multi-award-winning hit series Bottersnikes & Gumbles has been nominated for a Kidscreen Award, an annual competition which honours the best work in children’s television and digital media.
The nomination for Best New Kids Series in the Programming category is the latest in a series of awards won by the comedy CGI series including the 2016 Pulcinella Award for ‘Best Kids TV Series’ at Cartoons on the Bay, the 2016 Gold AEAF Award for ‘Best Opening Titles’ and the 2016 Promax BDA Silver Award for 'Best Program Title Sequence’. Nominations have included Most Outstanding Children’s Programme at the 2016 Logie Awards, ‘Best Music for Children’s Television’ at the 2016 Screen Music Awards and ‘Best Children’s Television Series’ at the 2016 AACTA Awards. Winners will be announced at a special presentation event on 14 February 2017.
Bottersnikes & Gumbles is currently airing weekdays on CBBC at 7.10am and 3.35pm, on 7TWO in Australia at 7.30am and globally in 17 languages on Netflix. Gumble Run, a game available on desktop, tablet and mobile and coproduced with CBBC, was launched in October. A publishing deal with Hachette will see sticker and activity books and storybooks for young readers coming to the UK and Australia.
Bottersnikes & Gumbles (52 x 11’) is aimed at 6-9 year olds and follows the adventures of three squashy, stretchy Gumble heroes, as they try to avoid getting tin-canned by their lazy, grumpy neighbours, the Bottersnikes. With adventure, action and camaraderie at its heart, Bottersnikes & Gumbles is based on the much-loved series of books by S.A. Wakefield, with illustrations by Desmond Digby and is co-produced by Cheeky Little Media and Mighty Nice in Australia and CAKE in the UK.
